The larger part of my weekend was spent re-visiting Rome – Total War, a game that I thought I’d played to my ultimate satisfaction (or frustration) when I first bought it, months ago. The sad fact is that while I love strategy games, I don’t have the staying power for them, succeeding perfectly well in the short term but not having the management skills for the long game… and Total War is all about the long game.

Here’s something I’ve already started doing, and want to mention.

In the interests of making full use of the interactivity of the web, I’ve tried to include useful links to related material (which should appear in bold) within my posts, when time allows.

However, I’m skint, so what I’ve also done, when possible, is when something I’ve mentioned is purchasable at Amazon, I’ve created a link to it there. If you use that link to buy the item, I get a bit of money.

Okay, so the first comments are in, and it’s become apparent that the next thing on the agenda is CSS for them… because man they ugly.

Found out that we don’t have broadband at home until 08/03, but once that’s done, it’s time to start picking the bones of my old site, and working out what I want to strip out and put in here. By then I should have worked out some sort of flash-fiction discipline, too. Or else, how I’m going to rework the old stuff so that it looks like new flash-fiction!

Banlieue 13 is an extremely stylish action movie that makes great use of it’s star David Belle’s parkour skills (he’s credited variously with founding and co-founding the movement), and is much more pace than logic driven.

The weekend was spent moving house… it’s going to be two weeks before we have a home internet connection, the dog has already worked out how to invade next door’s garden, and the bathroom has a precarious knackered locking mechanism, which threatens to potentially trap each person who uses it in a hilarious and terrifying way.

I like it there. It would be nice to not have to move again in another 6 months.
