So here it is, 2008, in all its glory.
So far, it feels pretty much like 2007. Only, you know, older.
The transition between years is going to really hit me hard in a few days – On Monday, I start a new job at a new employer, after 5 years at my current place. The job is at the University that I studied at, so it won’t be a completely new environment, and J has been working there for a while, now, so I won’t be completely alone. But it’s still a little nerve-wracking.
We’re also having to move again, some time in January. Our landlord is having some kind of life-crisis, and needs to sell up. We got our two months notice, but when one of those months is December, you might as well not have it, when it comes to rental properties. So far, the process of looking has been incredibly soul-destroying and not very productive, but hey, you know, a new year! Hope springs eternal…
And as soon as possible after we move, I’m going into hospital for an operation, to hopefully fix my nose. I know, I know, I’m so gorgeous that it is pretty hard to imagine that anything was wrong with it, but apparently my alluring charm is only skin-deep, as up there somewhere, something is deviated. It makes me a lousy bed-partner, is all I can say on that score.
So, new job, new house, and someone is going to drug me unconscious and take a hammer and chisel to my face. This year is already looking up!
