I worry that after the deserved success of the Dark Knight that they will all be tempted to 'Nolan' up the comic book movies. Fantastic Four is a product of its source material which is a generally light science fiction series with colourful characters who do very visually exciting things. I love drawing The Thing even though the character doesn't really interest me because he just looks fantastic on the page. I think the Fantastic Four look great in the movie, I think it is reasonably good casting with some great special effects. A giant squid god or something would be better, but also probably a little too sensitive, trademark-wise!
