SD/NP 15/10/2008 – Films I Haven’t Watched Yet And A Donnie Darko Sequel?

I know how neglectful this is, but for the second week running, I haven’t watched any movies.

I think it’s a matter of having too many to watch. My copy of “The Incredible Hulk” turned up a few days back, and we’ve got the old TV movie version of “The Other Boleyn Girl” sitting around, while Girl One waits for me to have a weak moment and agree to watch it.

Other films I am failing to get round to: “Daredevil” and “Electra” (because I promised someone here I would), “Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters”, “Southland Tales”, “Flashbacks Of A Fool”, and uuuh, “The Descent”.

I lost my concentration a little bit, there, for a second, when I read something peculiar on IMDB. Did anybody else hear about this:

S.Darko (2009)
The story picks up seven years after the first film when little sister Samantha Darko and her best friend Corey are now 18 and on a roadtrip to Los Angeles when they are plagued by bizarre visions.

My first instinct was to think that it might be some kind of joke or mistake. Like or loathe “Donnie Darko”, it’s pretty difficult to see how a sequel could possibly be spun out of it – it wasn’t that sort of movie at all. And while it kind of goes without saying that this will probably be pretty bad, I can’t help but be a little bit curious as to how it will work – it just seems so bizarre.

A spiritual sequel might have made a little sense, like “Confessions Of A Trick Baby” did for “Freeway”, but this is clearly meant as a “there is another” piece of bloodline franchise building.

Well, not clearly, I suppose. Still kind of thinking it might be a hoax that got out of hand.

Anyway, shake it off, Nick, shake it off.

So, out of interest, which of the movies I mentioned above do you think I should make the most effort to watch before next week? And why?
