- @swashford He was “not a psycho”? That’s cool, but what WAS he? Awesome, or Flawsome? Teehee! Naturally, that’s private, but glad all ok! #
- Got VERY wet walking in to work. For every five nice “aww, pretty” moments you get, living in England, you get at least one “Garr, weather”. #
- @Sulman Heh, at first I totally forgot what you were replying to. Stripped of context, your last tweet was kinda funny! #
- Felt like I spent whole weekend wrestling with stupid wireless network. Thanks to @sulman & dogged persistence, it seems to be working now. #
- @Groonk It is more often than not lacklustre. But the climate makes for some nice autumn colours, f’r s’re. COMPLETELY forgot about OP. Poo! #
- @sulman And on closer inspection, these are loafers. #
- Ok. So my whole day of wireless brainwrongs on Sunday was apparently caused by an Internet fuckzone all along the watchtower… #
- … by watchtower, I mean most of Southampton. At least, everyone in my office had similar service dropout. This maked me feel no better. #
- Heh. “Maked”. I meant, of course, “makes”. But my point is – if I’d known it wasn’t just me, I could have relaxed & read a book or summink. #
- Actually, @steevbishop, that would explain why our wheelie-bin – in our gated garden – was knocked over when I went and looked at midnight! #
- @steevbishop We got a bit spooked by that, actually. And weird noises outside. Too much confusion = ZERO relief. #
- In other news – Darwinia is the motherloving bomb! Though I ended up saying goodbye to any productivity post Girl One’s bedtime last night. #
- @steevbishop … huh. It wasn’t THAT bad, dude. No reason to get excited. #
- Not sure about the vocal on this version, but the arrangement is pretty absorbing. ♫ http://blip.fm/~p6wt #
- Oh go on, then. It’s stuck in my head, now. Gots to exorcise that demon… ♫ http://blip.fm/~p6yc #
- I have never, ever heard this song before – but it has an exponential build to it that appeals to me. Perfectly … ♫ http://blip.fm/~p70o #
- Loved this since High Fidelity, which is longer ago than I remember. Lovely, shambly & relaxed. Good for this we… ♫ http://blip.fm/~p74k #
- @davidbaillie … Oh. What if you think he’s a woman at the time? But then realise midway through, but figure “What the hey!”? #
- Romeo and Juliet are together for eternity… This song makes me nostalgic for the best thematic sequel to Ghost… ♫ http://blip.fm/~p78z #
- @davidbaillie What if I’m in a dress, & making out with a girl dressed as a guy? NOT… Ahem, not that that has ever happened… #
- Lovely, thrumming bass through this… always makes my adam’s apple thrum. Nick Cave creeps me the fuck out on t… ♫ http://blip.fm/~p7bo #
- @laineyw G1 gets stress nausea about possibility of puking – same sort of self-replicating discomfort. Must be frustrating, you poor thing! #
- @laineyw Only thing I can suggest is trying to sleep – as you’re having to lie down anyway. When I’m that tense, sleep only thing for it! #
- Just read this week’s LITG. @richjohnston, Sing it, brother! on The Thick Of It, & Dead Set. Not so sure about the Dr Who possibles… #
- I know there’s precedent but both Paterson Joseph & Marc Warren have featured prominently on the Dr Who reboot – casting them seems cheap… #
- … & Sean Pertwee smacks of stunt casting. Plus, beyond Shouty English bloke who gets killed early in everything, I’ve seen nowt of him. #
- Personally, if it wouldn’t be a double-dip so soon after Eccleston, I want David Thewlis for it. A scruffy “Who”, dark & light & fragile. #
- (Or, you know, Idris Elba. He’s a good actor, who understands the value of stillness. There isn’t a rule that says that Who has to overact.) #
- @davidbaillie Well, I’m partial to them FOR COMEDY VALUE, but otherwise labia… uh, labels, are just too confusing. #
- Hm. Seen couple of flash fiction, & continuing fiction things on this here Twitter, but is anybody writing short-form porn or erotica here? #
- Hm. Watching Buffy 0415. Buffy/Faith dream at start, Faith refers to lil sis coming to visit. I didn’t realise Dawn was that coded into it. #
- … I knew there were references to the end of season 5 further back, but I really thought Dawny came out of nowhere. #
- Um, a bit perplexed by all the fan-ficish Twitter accounts kicking up. First STNG, now the West Wing? Sigh. The West Wing. Happy days… #

Another Way To Breathe: On The Disir
HEAVY SPOILERS FOR JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY 638
I was asked on my Formspring “Was that always the real origin of your Disir, or something that evolved for EXILED?”. To which I responded….
When I created the Disir back in SIEGE: LOKI and NEW MUTANTS 11, I knew the origin I gave wasn’t the…
Kieron Gillen is killing it on Journey Into Mystery. It’s process like this that’s the reason why. Inspiring.

Peach for godsgirls

Illustration by Victo Ngai for the fiction “Sweet Dreams” by Peter Stamm
“She went to the bathroom, filled the tub, and got undressed. The mirror misted over with condensation, and the smell of pine needles filled the air. She turned off the water, and the apartment suddenly seemed very quiet. Then she heard footsteps, and Simon’s voice through the half-open door. He said, I’ll just go downstairs for the bottle of wine. I thought you’d gone already, said Lara, and she poked her head through the crack, and he kissed her on the lips and tried to barge the door open, but she held it shut. They kissed again. See you soon, said Lara. It was odd, she still felt a little ashamed in front of him.”

This scene is one of my earliest comic memories. It was the first point at which I saw a comic character making a mistake, which meant it was probably the first time I really processed them properly as characters and human.
Spider-man has webbed up a doorway to stop a criminal escaping, but then realises that the criminal is escaping out of the window instead, and in his hurry to catch them he forgets his own webbing.
It seems gloriously ridiculous out of context, but if memory serves it was part of a pretty intense and dramatic story featuring Alex Summers (Havok).
(This was me, by the way.)
