- @steevbishop But on the plus side, it means that you don’t have to make conversation with your colleagues… #
- Much as the franchise was ruined for me, those earliest Williams themes still call to the 10 year old inside me…. ♫ http://blip.fm/~pkoo #
- Note: There isn’t ACTUALLY a 10 year old inside me. IT IS A METAPHOR, PEOPLE! #
- Oh dear @mrtonylee – please don’t call yourself “Daddy”… It has connomatations… Ulp, too late, stuck in my head now. #
- But this is what I was ACTUALLY looking for. Lovely! I blogged about this song last week – a champion love song … ♫ http://blip.fm/~pksl #
- From game-love to comic-love. This is one of those perfect songs that, once you hear it, it stays with you forever. ♫ http://blip.fm/~pkvb #
- & then they go dark & funny. The whole album that this is on is available for free at myspace.com/themetascience… ♫ http://blip.fm/~pkw5 #
- @steevbishop Yeah, I read that… What a heartwarming tale of triumph & mortality… #
- @steevbishop Meant to add, “poor kid”. I’m not a machine, I promise… #
- Lee & Herring podcast is just far too funny – it hurts my tummy. #
- “I want a quantum of solace, but no more than a quantum; I know they do big bags of solace, but I don’t want ‘em.” http://is.gd/2R5k #
- @idsharman how about: “We’ve got a new Bond for the noughties, Because the world’s a TERRIBLE place.” http://is.gd/1owR ? #
- @mrtonylee Is the production & the extra material worth replacing one’s original pamphlets for? Does it get your stamp of approval? #
- @steevbishop Lucky NHS chap – free jabs! You wouldn’t BELIEVE how much effort it’d take for ME to get intravenous drugs at work. I’ve found. #
- @Sulman I am most eager to observe whether @steevbishop retains full & in fact accelerated mobility, rather than a full metabolic slowdown. #
- @steevbishop @sulman Just listened to Herring & Collins having this exact same conversation – with a bit of Pegg namedropping in there, too! #
- Course, not this EXACT conversation. Herring & Collins don’t have the slightest clue who @steevbishop is. Though I dunno, Pegg might… #
- @sulman We’re coming to get you, Babar! (Oh dear god, undead pachyderms – I think… I’m… having… An… IDEA!) #
- @joshhechinger Maybe if you didn’t insist on writing periods into everything?
But seriously, sir, crisis of confidence aside, you’re a… # - @joshhechinger … pretty fucking good writer. Maybe it just takes a while, sometimes? It’s still, like, early days, innit? #
- 3 pixie-ish girls in what looked like army uniforms just passed by. Cadets maybe? Cute! #

Another Way To Breathe: On The Disir
HEAVY SPOILERS FOR JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY 638
I was asked on my Formspring “Was that always the real origin of your Disir, or something that evolved for EXILED?”. To which I responded….
When I created the Disir back in SIEGE: LOKI and NEW MUTANTS 11, I knew the origin I gave wasn’t the…
Kieron Gillen is killing it on Journey Into Mystery. It’s process like this that’s the reason why. Inspiring.

Peach for godsgirls

Illustration by Victo Ngai for the fiction “Sweet Dreams” by Peter Stamm
“She went to the bathroom, filled the tub, and got undressed. The mirror misted over with condensation, and the smell of pine needles filled the air. She turned off the water, and the apartment suddenly seemed very quiet. Then she heard footsteps, and Simon’s voice through the half-open door. He said, I’ll just go downstairs for the bottle of wine. I thought you’d gone already, said Lara, and she poked her head through the crack, and he kissed her on the lips and tried to barge the door open, but she held it shut. They kissed again. See you soon, said Lara. It was odd, she still felt a little ashamed in front of him.”

This scene is one of my earliest comic memories. It was the first point at which I saw a comic character making a mistake, which meant it was probably the first time I really processed them properly as characters and human.
Spider-man has webbed up a doorway to stop a criminal escaping, but then realises that the criminal is escaping out of the window instead, and in his hurry to catch them he forgets his own webbing.
It seems gloriously ridiculous out of context, but if memory serves it was part of a pretty intense and dramatic story featuring Alex Summers (Havok).
(This was me, by the way.)
