- RT @porksmith: All I'm hearing is MIchael Jackman this, and Michael Jackman that… #
- @richjohnston Wait what? in reply to richjohnston #
- @XanderBennett That's a bit horrific and awesome, isn't it? I saw it this morning and it rocked my world. in reply to XanderBennett #
- Mollie Sugden has died! http://twurl.nl/vndo71... Oh man. I suspect @thepetshopboy, @philkirby & I talking AYBS the other day contributed. #
- @Glinner I absolutely love Jason, but I never think I will. Despite previous experiences. It's weird. in reply to Glinner #
- @RedMummy Wait, what? in reply to RedMummy #
- Karl Malden is dead as well? It's like an apocalypse of bygone celebrities who I hadn't thought about in years but now oddly miss… #
- I ain't never had no karma but bad karma no-how, @philkirby… let it come. LET IT COME! #
- @philkirby It's a bit nuts, isn't it? The Japanese, they aren't quite like us! in reply to philkirby #
- @Glinner Do I live in your brain? I… don't THINK I do! But it would certainly explain a lot. in reply to Glinner #
- @Glinner …There are a few more novelists than comic people I feel that way about, tho. Magnus Mills, I'm never sure of, for example. in reply to Glinner #
- @Herring1967 Are you just worried that he'll get through all the ones whose shows are still in repeats, move onto the unfairly overlooked? in reply to Herring1967 #
- Celebrate 10 years of Moonfruit and win a MacBook Pro http://bit.ly/96bxC #moonfruit (Because you're worth it. & I'm shameless) #
- @brubaker Huh… That's odd. That sentence almost perfectly fits into a conversation I was just this second having. Hm. in reply to brubaker #
- @Herring1967 Again, I question the value in a) Them unfollowing so publicly & b) Blocking. Blocking seems a little like overkill… in reply to Herring1967 #
- @Herring1967 … It's the Twitter version of a restraining order, & what sort of nut gives someone who wasn't in their space one of those? in reply to Herring1967 #
- Wait, what the fuck? Is this a nose-bleed? #
- RT @iamjamesward: Mollie Sugden has died; exposure to sunshine, moonlight & good times ruled out: coroners say cause of death was 'boogie' #
- @iamjamesward I still don't really understand the "Block" tactic. Unfollow would seem to suffice. That chap brought along too much firearm. #
- http://twurl.nl/epldyv – “Fast-route.co.uk? Arse-route.poo more like!” #
- http://twurl.nl/epldyv – Vince Noir – not the ACTUAL Noir I think – had a great crack at Dan Lester's recent cock picture, in the EW forum. #
- I think Isabel Monteiro just left a comment at Nixsight – http://twurl.nl/g6wgv0 – Far too fragile a moment to spoil seeking verification. #
- @RedMummy You should totally tell him so! in reply to RedMummy #
- @RedMummy It's in the forum, so you'd need to log in to the forum. Or register on the forum and then log in. Or something. in reply to RedMummy #
- @belle_lulu NO ONE is a teenager like what they are. in reply to belle_lulu #
- @belle_lulu @SorenLorensen Having worked for years in an FE college, I can reliably announce that they don't. Your teenage years are intact! #
- RT @zdarsky: My alternate history novel, "What if Michael Jackson had Lived?" is coming along pretty well. #
- @marcellerby Morpheus? in reply to marcellerby #
- @marcellerby Heh, perfectly acceptable. I was just dissapointed – scooted over there looking for pictures of the comic artist muppet. in reply to marcellerby #
- That isn't how you spell disappointed. #
- Langridge is 1 of my favourites, @marcellerby – I need to post the sketches he's done for me again, soon. My 1st original art purchase, too! #
- Before I'd bought more than an odd issue from him, tho, he always remembered my name each year, which I thought was SO classy. @marcellerby #
- @marcellerby And I actually don't think he has the slightest clue how good he is. in reply to marcellerby #
- @cyborgturkey That was incredible. With the length of it, you wouldn't expect them to need such fast cuts. Enjoyed the MJF & Eligius bits. in reply to cyborgturkey #
- Dammit! Sorry, @thepetshopboy. Mollie Sugden was Mrs Slocombe in Are You Being Served? Or to put it another way: http://twurl.nl/6ck7ym #
- I actually HATED Are You Being Served? But I kind of loved the theme: http://twurl.nl/dnmn7p. Wonder if this is why I love list songs… #
- One more book till I can put this post about small-press comics I bought at Bristol out & move the fuck on. It is one book that can wait… #
- @iainlee I'd LOVE a fight, but I've already had my quota of celebrity deathmatches this week… in reply to iainlee #

- @ruckawriter What games? in reply to ruckawriter #
- Some days, everything seems like a White Whine entry. #
- @Herring1967 The only way to get virgilioanderson to trend that hard is going to be if he dies. Hmm… in reply to Herring1967 #
- Oh, god… so yesterday was all about @caitlinmoran's cosmic yoni, & today's going to be all about @Herring1967's baby bags. GREAT. #
- I think @ronskanky pinned a piece about the changing face of humour on Mrs Slocombe's Pussy, @philkirby & @thepetshopboy… #
- Now imagining @Herring1967's potential rage if #virgilio becomes a bigger trend than #virgilioanderson. Almost worth the effort to do… #
- @ruckawriter Sorry, you tweet that later in my timeline. Swashbuckling RPG, right? I miss the brief period of RPGing I did years back… in reply to ruckawriter #
- @ruckawriter …You get a good game runner, & the rules become almost irrelevant, don't they? in reply to ruckawriter #
- @jamesclay I SHALL ANSWER YOUR QUESTION WITH A QUESTION… What is the point of talking? And Red Bull. in reply to jamesclay #
- @dailyecho Wait, what? How did the dog get away if it was tied up? Are they fighting dogs (I had no idea… quite like the breed)… in reply to dailyecho #
- @dailyecho …& that behaviour is quite odd, isn't it? Poor woman. Also poor dog – it's a confused dog that lets you stroke it then attacks. in reply to dailyecho #
- @thepetshopboy I'm pretty much unfazed by her. Don't think it's Piper's fault, necessarily – someone else thought she could carry the story. in reply to thepetshopboy #
- @thepetshopboy …Though I can still appreciate what Rose is supposed to mean in that universe. Mind, it's diluted by others. in reply to thepetshopboy #
- I actually think David Tennant had better chemistry with Catherine Tate than Billie Piper. #
- @thepetshopboy Heh… if Jessica Simpson was on Dr Who, Girl One would sure as fuck want to watch it! in reply to thepetshopboy #
- @RedMummy Heh… It's impressive, actually, that Tate managed to make Donna seperate from all that. in reply to RedMummy #
- @RedMummy Also, Rob Brydon changed his twitter name last night. I thought EVERYONE knew that… in reply to RedMummy #
- @thepetshopboy Chris Eccleston? I prefer him as an actor, but by the time Tennant was on his 2nd season, he was my new doctor… in reply to thepetshopboy #
- @RedMummy Heh… that's okay… the internet will soon forget… in reply to RedMummy #
- @thepetshopboy He's one of my favourite actors, Eccleston: I do wonder if there isn't a small element of crush in there. I'd sooner Thewlis. in reply to thepetshopboy #
- I mean I'd sooner Thewlis as the Doctor, not, you know, as a man crush. Though if his wife was along… #
- Oh, dear… So time wasn't kind to you, @Mykx. My 1st 2 were Baker & Davidson, but to be honest, Patrick Troughton is the one for me. #
- RT @steevbishop: Molly Sugden knew a thing or two about #virgilioanderson (Oh, NICE!) #
- @thepetshopboy Mind you, if Eccleston's presence wasn't enough to push it in a darker direction… (Have you seen Naked?) in reply to thepetshopboy #
- @thepetshopboy Than you know EXACTLY what I'm thinking about… in reply to thepetshopboy #
- @thepetshopboy That's what TORCHWOOD should have been! in reply to thepetshopboy #
- @Mykx Man… that's the suck! in reply to Mykx #
- @thepetshopboy Well, it has it's moments, especially in the 2nd season, but its take on mature themes is that everyone shags everyone… in reply to thepetshopboy #
- @thepetshopboy … But not graphically. There's a bit of swearing, & innuendo, & LOTS of tired sci-fi cliches. in reply to thepetshopboy #
- In terms of maturity, the shows go: Sarah Jane, Doctor Who, Torchwood. EXACTLY the opposite of what you'd expect! #thepetshopboy #Mykx #
- @steevbishop Is that a feature, or an extra that you have to pay for? in reply to steevbishop #
- @marcellerby Better late than never… I don't know if I read to end, or IF it ended, but it's the reason I say "Cool Beans!" in reply to marcellerby #
- @steevbishop But… isn't that how it's meant to be? in reply to steevbishop #
- @RedMummy Well, if you will insist on doing it in clothes. in reply to RedMummy #
- I miss Jeff Goldblum – this report makes me feel even sadder about his tragic demise. Sigh. http://is.gd/1lmJV #
- … New Zealand police have confirmed that #virgilioanderson pushed Jeff Goldblum to his death. #
- Just listened to the @geeksyndicate The Next Level podcast. Man, you guys were thorough, & awesome. Plus, I got an anonymous namecheck! Yay! #

- @giagia My sister of the three week old baby is convinced that there are already REAL smiles, alongside the Wind smiles, so who maybe… in reply to giagia #
- @giagia … How long is it before they're supposed to be proper smiley? in reply to giagia #
- @steevbishop S'like the Jonathan Ross show or something. I guess I was the not so famous niche guest you brought on early?
in reply to steevbishop # - @dailyecho Blimey… That should ABSOLUTELY have made it into the article…was it in the print version?
Dalmatians have similar history. in reply to dailyecho # - @tim12s Heh… true enough. It was a confusing moment. in reply to tim12s #
- @ebroxx Oh noes… this was in the middle of town. In the little park where people tend to be sexually assaulted at nights. Hello, you! in reply to ebroxx #
- @acheverton Oh, no… @steevbishop favours the Marlands one, so we were in the sweet-spot seats, in the front window. in reply to acheverton #
- @acheverton I love the mystery of it all… Modern life leaves too few corners in the world unlit. in reply to acheverton #
- @acheverton Ah, but they get to stay throughout the show… in reply to acheverton #
- Ha…that really says it all, doesn't it, @acheverton? We had that conversation: You see more of 'em at WQ branch, but at M they are closer! #
- @acheverton I am like the wind… in reply to acheverton #

- @Bournemouthecho Heh. in reply to Bournemouthecho #
- @caitlinmoran Teenagers have no stamina or work ethic. Had I the opportunity, weather would be no barrier. Tell him to pull his finger out! in reply to caitlinmoran #
- @caitlinmoran (Or, you know, put it in. That might help.) in reply to caitlinmoran #
- @hattiehattie Oh, no, I can see it. (Note: I can't really see it. @chartltonbrooker may be responding to the eyes? There is a hint there.) in reply to hattiehattie #
- @hattiehattie Ah, see, I was going from what we see in the pictures…! in reply to hattiehattie #
- @geeksyndicate Agreed on Detective Comics – also, I just picked it up from scratch, & it works just fine, even tho I don't know the woman. #
- @steevbishop IT'S OKAY I KNOW MY PLACE. Sob. At least I wasn't bumped for Joe Pasquale. in reply to steevbishop #
- @steevbishop You can't rely on people's ability to remember an individual piece of tech. My suggestion? Communication Saturation ftw! in reply to steevbishop #
- There's something seriously up with my nose. Started last night, bugging me today. Gak! #
- @Groonk It's a nice film, but I made the mistake of watching it the same night as Assassination/Jesse James. It got overshadowed.
in reply to Groonk # - @parsnipnose3000 Is this the curse of Are You Being Served? in full effect? in reply to parsnipnose3000 #
- @parsnipnose3000 Aside from the @glinner & Armando stables? in reply to parsnipnose3000 #
- @Groonk Oh, no, it's a lovely film. Well, lovely isn't right – just a really odd film, technically, & unfolding with a relentlessness to it. in reply to Groonk #

Another Way To Breathe: On The Disir
HEAVY SPOILERS FOR JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY 638
I was asked on my Formspring “Was that always the real origin of your Disir, or something that evolved for EXILED?”. To which I responded….
When I created the Disir back in SIEGE: LOKI and NEW MUTANTS 11, I knew the origin I gave wasn’t the…
Kieron Gillen is killing it on Journey Into Mystery. It’s process like this that’s the reason why. Inspiring.

Peach for godsgirls

Illustration by Victo Ngai for the fiction “Sweet Dreams” by Peter Stamm
“She went to the bathroom, filled the tub, and got undressed. The mirror misted over with condensation, and the smell of pine needles filled the air. She turned off the water, and the apartment suddenly seemed very quiet. Then she heard footsteps, and Simon’s voice through the half-open door. He said, I’ll just go downstairs for the bottle of wine. I thought you’d gone already, said Lara, and she poked her head through the crack, and he kissed her on the lips and tried to barge the door open, but she held it shut. They kissed again. See you soon, said Lara. It was odd, she still felt a little ashamed in front of him.”

This scene is one of my earliest comic memories. It was the first point at which I saw a comic character making a mistake, which meant it was probably the first time I really processed them properly as characters and human.
Spider-man has webbed up a doorway to stop a criminal escaping, but then realises that the criminal is escaping out of the window instead, and in his hurry to catch them he forgets his own webbing.
It seems gloriously ridiculous out of context, but if memory serves it was part of a pretty intense and dramatic story featuring Alex Summers (Havok).
(This was me, by the way.)
