- @TracyAnnO The way you should deal with that is TOTALLY to shout "Goddamn you, DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM??" in her face… in reply to TracyAnnO #
- @TracyAnnO …I'd say the woman who killed Dirty Den AND set off a Cyberman invasion of earth can eat however the hell she wants! in reply to TracyAnnO #
- @TracyAnnO …Oh, I see! Incidentally, that suggested response wasn't just cos you're famous. I do it every time someone looks at me funny. in reply to TracyAnnO #
- @TracyAnnO (People look at me funny a lot.) in reply to TracyAnnO #
- @SorenLorensen Aww, you look so HAPPY! Was that delirium? in reply to SorenLorensen #
- @TracyAnnO You know, sometimes, ma'am, I don't think they have the SLIGHTEST clue. Philistines. (Did she look like a Phyllis?) in reply to TracyAnnO #
- @budgie No, I probably couldn't. But I could EASILY turn out to be the person who unwittingly unleashed them on t'human race. I'm the sort! in reply to budgie #
- @SorenLorensen Enjoy your candle-lit bath…! #
- @swashford S'always time for takeaway. Besides, choosing which one/what to have is work. So no need to feel guilty! in reply to swashford #
- Had a hell of a day… egg sarnies for breakfast, drive out to Weston & then Hamble to walk Dog One, then bacon sarnies for lunch… #
- …Then red thai chicken curry for dinner, which was nice. Haven't had a lot of Me time this weekend, but it's been lovely. #
- G1 & Oke watching Band Of Brothers from the start downstairs. G1 has inexplicably never watched it, despite it being right up her alley… #
- …I'm dipping in & out. Watched 1st 3 or 4 with @Sulman when we lived together, so will sit & watch in anger when they catch up to me. #
- @swashford That sounds awesome, actually! We had extravagant Chinese takeaway Friday – you've just cruelly reminded me of it! in reply to swashford #
- @thoughtmecca It is exceptionally good telly. All of the good stuff about Saving Private Ryan, with none of the sentimentality or schmaltz. in reply to thoughtmecca #
- @thoughtmecca I think that it's got more in common with Generation Kill, approach-wise, than I remembered. Quite harrowing stuff, at times. in reply to thoughtmecca #
- @Glinner Oh, were you asking about our days? We took the dog out in the car – she still isn't used to it – for a further afield walkies… in reply to Glinner #
- @Glinner …looked in on where the nouveau riche keep their yachts. Then, Band Of Brothers watching with a friend. Girl One likes her war. in reply to Glinner #
- @RedMummy Well, that's entirely predictable. Doesn't sound like OPs scene at all. But then, it isn't everybody's! Maus, good call… in reply to RedMummy #
- @RedMummy …Kevin Smith Diaries? Josh can do better! in reply to RedMummy #
- @RedMummy …Full length leather coat? Hm. You're really supposed to try and protect him from fashion like that! in reply to RedMummy #
- @RedMummy Still, earlier he gets into it, the longer he has to grow out of it. I did my time in full-length coats, for sure. in reply to RedMummy #
- @RedMummy N'night! in reply to RedMummy #
- @Specsneedaclean Um, how'd that happen? in reply to Specsneedaclean #
- @thoughtmecca I'd put it off because of what I thought it would be. I thought it'd be more precious than it was… in reply to thoughtmecca #
- @thoughtmecca …Lebowski is easier to enjoy with a bit of distance from that hype. This time round, I just enjoyed it for the laughs… in reply to thoughtmecca #
- @thoughtmecca (When I compare it too much against Fargo or even Hudsucker Proxy, it doesn't fare as well…) in reply to thoughtmecca #
- @jonronson Funny you should mention flossing – was just told by dental hygienist that I have to. Is it always THIS fraught with danger? in reply to jonronson #
- Dental Hygienist told me off for bad dental hygiene. Apparently, gums don't grow back? Why wasn't I told? #
- @RedMummy Big fun, then? He'll be fine, but I did used to loathe going back to school. And school. in reply to RedMummy #

- @Specsneedaclean Apparently! Apparently not! in reply to Specsneedaclean #
- @jonronson Oh, great. I'm already a bit OCD about getting stuff stuck in my teeth… AND NOW THIS! Hope yours sorts itself out. in reply to jonronson #
- Facebook 'enhances intelligence' but Twitter 'diminishes it', claimes psychologist – http://is.gd/2Zreo – psychologist may have a point… #
- …But that headline is misleading. It suggests that it's quoting but there's no evidence that that's exactly what the source said. #
- Am buying The Street Series 1, because of good things you've all said, & because Amazon has it for £6! It's here: http://is.gd/2Zsxa #
- @Sulman Oh, hang on… does that punctuation mean it's paraphrasing? Got some punctuation blindness – thought it was saying it was a quote! in reply to Sulman #
- @Sulman …My mistake! Yeah, in that case, it's close enough. Like I said, the psychologist seemed insightful enough. in reply to Sulman #
- @Specsneedaclean Innit? Disclaimer: That link IS an associate link, so if you use it, I get a tiny bit of money! in reply to Specsneedaclean #
- Also, was trying to explain how good Clocking Off was to G1 – she didn't seem convinced. So series 1, £7, yes ta! http://is.gd/2Ztcw #
- @thepetshopboy I think my initial reaction to the piece was similar. Took what could've been a useful piece of data & reduced it to baiting. #
- @Specsneedaclean A tiny bit, but these things, you'd hope, would mount up! in reply to Specsneedaclean #
- @Sulman Oh, dear…! Who'd you chop? in reply to Sulman #
- @Sulman Not Swashford! Oh gosh! Oh, well, easily sorted, I suppose. At least it wasn't a block… I'm not sure how easy those are to fix. in reply to Sulman #

- Are ANY of you reliable, trustworthy mortgage advisors? It's a longshot, yes, but I keep hearing about how Twitter is good for such things. #
- @Specsneedaclean I don't know… Something to do with… shopping? in reply to Specsneedaclean #
- @Specsneedaclean Seriously, though? Seriously? I need to send you an e-mail, don't I? in reply to Specsneedaclean #
- @RedMummy Which, of course, is why I'm not walking into an estate agent and asking the question. in reply to RedMummy #
- Thankyou, @RedMummy! @steevbishop, okay, I'll give you my life savings. Ahahah! Hahaha! HAH! Ahaha! Do you want it as pizza or KFC? #

When I created the Disir back in SIEGE: LOKI and NEW MUTANTS 11, I knew the origin I gave wasn’t the…
Kieron Gillen is killing it on Journey Into Mystery. It’s process like this that’s the reason why. Inspiring.

Peach for godsgirls

Illustration by Victo Ngai for the fiction “Sweet Dreams” by Peter Stamm
“She went to the bathroom, filled the tub, and got undressed. The mirror misted over with condensation, and the smell of pine needles filled the air. She turned off the water, and the apartment suddenly seemed very quiet. Then she heard footsteps, and Simon’s voice through the half-open door. He said, I’ll just go downstairs for the bottle of wine. I thought you’d gone already, said Lara, and she poked her head through the crack, and he kissed her on the lips and tried to barge the door open, but she held it shut. They kissed again. See you soon, said Lara. It was odd, she still felt a little ashamed in front of him.”

This scene is one of my earliest comic memories. It was the first point at which I saw a comic character making a mistake, which meant it was probably the first time I really processed them properly as characters and human.
Spider-man has webbed up a doorway to stop a criminal escaping, but then realises that the criminal is escaping out of the window instead, and in his hurry to catch them he forgets his own webbing.
It seems gloriously ridiculous out of context, but if memory serves it was part of a pretty intense and dramatic story featuring Alex Summers (Havok).
(This was me, by the way.)
